Save the Summer Job
Labour's tax hikes and new employment laws are making it harder for businesses to hire seasonal staff, putting thousands of summer jobs at risk
That's why we need to make it easier for businesses to hire seasonal staff and give young people a chance. We would:
- Cut taxes, scrap employment red tape and end attacks on hospitality and tourism.
- Simplify evening and Sunday restrictions, so young people can choose when to work.
- Give young workers flexibility over when breaks are taken and allow them to work alternate days in the week.
- Relax the window for evening work to 9pm.
- Remove the need for red-tape permits to hire young people who deserve a chance to work.
